State Grade 6 Pennant winners Kempsey Macleay RSL
The Bowls NSW State Grade 6 Pennant finals were held at Warilla on 26 to 28 July.
Zone winners Kempsey Macleay RSL won the first 2 rounds in their sectional play however a 2 shot loss in the 3rd round against the Mounties (Zone 12) still saw them through to the quarter final stages of the competition.
Results show that both the Mounties and Kempsey Macleay RSL were the 2 form sides in the competition and with resounding wins in the semi finals there was a rematch between the two clubs in the final.
Revenge was sweet for Kempsey Macleay RSL who won the final 64 to 46.
Congratulations to Lachlan Cooper, Gavin Kennedy, Allan Fuller, Kevin Kennedy, Trevor Mundy, Neil Swain, Colin Young, Michael Woods, Terry Smith, Robin Cook, Robert Dykes and John Williams on a great achievement.
Congratulations also to South West Rocks (grade 4) and Macksville (grade 5) who went down fighting in their semi final matches – both of them losing to the eventual State grade 4 and grade 5 pennant winners – Junee and Gymea.
